The fitness and gym market in India is so fragmented that there are large swings in estimates of its size and volume. 

While data from market research firm Praxis Global Alliance puts the number of gyms and clubs at around 77,000, Euromonitor says it is closer to 21,000 as of 2019.

Besides, gyms are heavily underutilized in India... According to Praxis, gyms operate at less than 20% of their capacity during the daytime.
