Apparel retailers witnessed demand for the athleisure segment during the lockdown as customers were indoors and continued to buy casual wear. The appeal for athleisure lies in its blend of fashion and comfort. While the casualization of work wear has been ongoing for some time, athleisure is increasingly becoming accepted as regular casual attire. The trend is expected to be sustained driven by increased consumer health and fitness awareness and growing acceptability of athleisure as casual wear- Shivaraj said.
